NEQLab Research BV is a research and technology development company focused on multidisciplinary studies and applications at the crossing of discharge physics, plasma physics, chemical kinetics, and gas-dynamics of reactive flows.
Before relocating to The Netherlands with the assistance of West Holland Foreign Investment Agency in the beginning of 2008 the company had had a strong background of research activity in Russia as an university laboratory. Its client base included, among others, world largest and technologically advanced engine manufacturers. The team relocated to the EU in order to commercialize its works, taking along its deep knowledge in various complementary scientific disciplines. The Netherlands, and in particular Den Haag-Delft area, was chosen due to the unique combination of world class research and educational institutions with full range of business services and excellent quality of life.
As of now NEQLab’s multinational team holds the leading position in study of nanosecond plasma discharge and its application to various technological areas. Unlike academic research groups, the Company focuses on the practical use of technologies, that it develops, in commercial applications. Using the common knowledge base, sharing equipment and research staff, Neqlab engages in several R&D projects: (i) diesel fuel reforming, (ii) stabilization of ignition and combustion of ultra-lean fuel-air mixture at high flow rates, (iii) efficient detonation initiation at atmospheric pressure conditions, and (iv) ignition at high pressures, required by internal combustion engines of the next generation. Neqlab carries out the latter project together with Nissan Corp.
In addition, in close cooperation with TU Delft, the Company develops a novel technology of plasma assisted flow control which addresses aircraft, wind turbine, and gas turbine applications. Over the first two years of operations the Neqlab was never disappointed about its choice of location and is very grateful to WFIA for its strong support and assistance during this time.
