This concept is a high tech digital market place where supply and demand of ICT products and services are brought together. This concept is unique through the combination of the high-end capacity of the glassfiber network, the available ICT expertise in Zoetermeer and the collaboration of city, province and corporate life. This electronic environment brings together operators, suppliers and consumers of ICT products and services. Through the glassfiber network they offer their services to organizations in and around Zoetermeer. Robbert Willems, initiator of the ZHix says:” The main reason for companies choosing a business location has shifted from accessibility and public transport facilities to the accessibility of a high speed digital network. Providing and buying online services through a high speed network holds the future. We make sure that both parties will meet each other.” A digital glassfiber network is faster than any digital network such as cable or ADSL. Its speed is infinite and data transmission works equally fast when uploading or downloading. “How we are different from any other datacenter in the Netherlands is that we are linking corporate structures with technology. We have a helpdesk and system operators standing by to respond to any situation”, according to Robert Willems. Companies can significantly lower its operations costs by acquiring necessary equipment and outsourcing major hardware like server and backup machines. In the educational system you can see a clear shift: More and more traditional blackboards are making way for learning through computers and school books are being replaced by e-learning methods. This new learning method of course requires high speed data connection. Tarq is the initiator and moderator of this highly innovative platform.
